Fellow music associate and close friend Paul Phillips died suddenly 16th September 2007 from a heart attack. Paul had spent the evening with friends playing music. He was the heart & soul of the Spanish-Lady & the Vagabonds who will pick up the pieces and continue on in his memory.
An overall musical bond exists between the members of the Spanish-Lady & the Vagabonds, drawing on the, magical essence found in their rendition of tunes, recitations and songs delivered in performance, all of which portrays a vibrant enthusiasm for our musical heritage.
Their repertoire links to the early music of; the Bardic Era (music of the Gaels), the aged itinerant 18th century travelling harpers, the livlier dance music of Ireland/Scotland/England/Wales and further afield. Song choices include those songs found within the travelling community, traditional songs and newly written compositions.
